Lindy Jones says: Thanks to the organisers once again! A very pleasant evening with quite a few laughs. Still hard to believe 45 years have passed when you still think you're in your mid-30s... And Jeff? that was a very impressive melting-away!

Peter O'Brien says: These reunions are always good...look at the pics, everyone is smiling...the next one is 50 years..it'd be so good to catch up with people that I haven't seen for many years....

Mike Clahsen says: Thank you to everyone who attended Saturday night's 45-Year Reunion, especially those who travelled great distances. Everyone in attendance appeared to have a wonderful time with an impressive 60 in attendance! Sadly, we have become aware of the recent passing of some of our classmates. Many of us have fond memories of Desleigh Lindberg and Gary Mulcahy, you will be missed.

Lindy Jones says: Looks like you had a fun evening - sorry again that I couldn't attend - Lord Howe Island was just that bit too far to come from! I'm still in Sydney, still in the bookshop and about to start my fifth term as a judge on the Miles Franklin Award. I hope there's another reunion before the Golden one!

Julie Eaton says: Thanks for a wonderful night. Really good to see so many people. Sadly Peter Mann also passed away some years ago.

Peter O'Brien says: Another excellent reunion."You never know when your making a memory". This is so true from school days. From both Primary and High School I never thought I'd be talking with people from more than 50 years ago. Good talking and laughing about dormant memories. Even enjoyable chatting with those who didn't remember me, nor I them. No one can be expected to recall all faces or names. So good seeing people who I haven't seen at previous reunions. Bit of a shame some couldn't attend. And of course a big thanks to the organisers for such a great night. Hope to see some or all of you again in the future.

Storm Quine-Schouw says: Hi everyone! I can't make the reunion as I am still heavily involved in hockey and the reunion weekend is the Indoor State championships. My youngest daughter Paige is playing and I am a manager. Me/Storm in 35 years...... Went to Teacher'S College. Taught southside for awhile (very much an eye opener after our local area) then landed at Ferny Hills - have come across many children from Grovely and Mitchie Past students probably teaching grandkids soon. (Scarey) I married a hockey player/fireman John and we have two daughters and one grandson. I still play divisional and representative hockey and have taken up 35+ soccer this season(way rougher than hockey)We spend a lot of time up the coast fishing and hanging out. Life is good. Hope you all have a great night with plenty of laughs!!Might be able to pop into the 40th.

Lindy Jones says: Sorry I can't make it like I had hoped to. Have regularly popped up to Brisbane to see my ailing parents - the inevitablity of getting older means your folks do too. The past five years have had more than their share of sadness, as my beloved partner Roy passed away in 2010 from melanoma. Nothing you ever wish on your worst enemy, let alone the love of your life. I hope those who get to go to this reunion have a fabulous time, and that the last five years have been kind to all. Cheers, Lindy

Jeff Turpin says: mick clahsen asked me this question about my life at the reunion...what do you do for your mind? there was something i heard years ago-that we humans have 7 fields of posibility. kinesthetic, logical, linguistic, internal, social, some more i forget.... this influenced me to find a balanced approach to life, yoga, juggling, meditation, rope walking, music, improvisation, theatre, spanish. a little less maths and structural analysis. more writting less grammar. these are all extensions of the idea of doing something, that will go in a new outward extending direction, and each of these can lead to further and invariably has. i sort of get the impression that the status symbols of our society are a little skewed, so i would like to have a reunion were i run in a foot race against the 70's champions, and we play a few games together where there aren't have winners and loosers too. Artsworkers do amazing things to shape the culture we are part of, even semi retired ones like me are always working, creating interacting, and on it all goes. What does that bring up for you? what under 50 award would you like to win?

Brian Stevens says: Hi Mike I have found some photos of grades 1C, 2A, 3D, 4E & 6B from Mitchy Infant and Primary Schools. Some faces from the reunion night in the grade 1 photo are; myself, Greg Petroff, Baz Trinder, James Spreadborough and Lisa Wignall. Other faces I recognise are; Greg Ross, Paul Craig, Stephen Duffy, Tommy Manion, Michael (PEBO) Pearson, Donna Warry and Cathy Morgan. There is also our very good looking teacher Miss Borsarinee (not sure of the spelling) I'll email them to you after I have scanned them in. I have also found under 9 & 10 team photos from the old Budapest Grovely soccer days.

Mike Clahsen says: There has been some interest in delving further into the past (i.e. Primary School) as most people do not have school photos from every year. We've started uploading primary school photos onto the web site (see the link from the home page) starting with Grovely State School. Photos from other schools will be added progressively as people send them to us. If you have any photos you would be willing to share then email them to us at reunion@mitchie78.com. Also, please let use know if you can recall the names of any of the nameless!
